Dewi Susanti

Dewi has almost 20 years of experience in improving education equity and quality; split equally between program development and research. She was a Senior Social Development Specialist with the World Bank Indonesia. She was the Task Team Leader for KIAT Guru, a large-scale pilot to improve accountability and performance of principals and teachers and enabling environment for parents and community members in remote primary schools. The pilot’s impact evaluation found significantly improved learning outcomes.

Previously, she was a Lead Research Specialist with the National Team for Acceleration of Poverty Reduction (TNP2K), a think tank under the Office of the Vice President of Indonesia. Prior to doing research, she developed capacity-building programs and served as the Program Director for Education and Quality at Tanoto Foundation, and the Creative Director at Art Explore. She holds a Master of Education from Harvard University and a Master of Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley.
